Printed Batteries

The 'Printed Batteries' area is an excellent example how VARTA has developed a marketable product in collaboration with other research institutions. Printed batteries are flexible in shape, can be produced without waste and are extremely safe primary batteries. This makes them particularly suitable for the use in the medical sector. Printed battery solutions will become an important component for the future market of printed electronics.

Research projects

The project focuses on the development of novel active materials for competitive energy storage devices, batteries and supercapacitors. The focus is on the main components: active material, electrolyte and device design.
