VARTA AG starts 2024 with another strong training year: diverse career opportunities for 27 young talents

Ellwangen, 14 October 2024 - This year, 27 new apprentices and dual students are starting their careers at VARTA AG at the Ellwangen, Dischingen and Nördlingen sites. This brings the number of prospective specialists currently undergoing training at VARTA AG in various technical and commercial professions to more than 100. VARTA AG invests continuously and sustainably in well-trained and qualified junior staff. This is not only a business necessity that ensures the further training and development of VARTA AG, but also a social responsibility that the company fulfils.

"For us, training young talent is the key to future success. We are proud to promote the specialists of tomorrow through our dedicated training programme. By investing in modern learning environments, such as our new training centre in Ellwangen, we are optimally preparing them for the challenges of battery technology and the energy industry. In this way, we are making a significant contribution to securing the next generation of skilled workers and laying the foundation for our company's continued innovative and globally leading products," explains Michael Ostermann, CEO of VARTA AG.

Diverse apprenticeships and dual study programmes at VARTA AG
VARTA AG attaches particular importance to the practical transfer of knowledge and skills so that the specialists of tomorrow are optimally prepared for their professional future. This is achieved through training in technical and commercial professions as well as in dual study programmes. "At VARTA AG, we combine theoretical principles with practical relevance. Positive co-operation between the trainees and the VARTA AG trainers on an equal footing is essential," says Anja Lambert, Head of Training at VARTA AG. A varied training programme and good equipment at the training centres are important factors. "In addition, the right balance between 'encouragement and support' and 'motivation to perform' plays a major role. Competent and committed support along the learning path is one of the reasons why so many young people choose to start their careers with us time and time again," Lambert continues.

VARTA trainees honoured at the IHK "Bestenehrung" awards 2023 - evidence of the high quality of training
VARTA AG's approach to training is clearly proving successful: at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce's (IHK) "Bestenehrung", nine out of 26 trainees who completed their training at VARTA AG in 2023 were honoured for their outstanding achievements. Six of them received a prize, three a commendation - more than a third of the graduates are therefore among the best in their year in the inventor and industrial state of Baden-Württemberg. The "Best of the Year Award" for the graduates of the 2024 training year is scheduled for late autumn - and VARTA AG graduates will once again be represented at this event. "Working with the trainees gives us great pleasure, all the more so when they impress us with their good results. We will also be training apprentices in the coming year 2025 and look forward to receiving many applications," concludes Lambert.

About the VARTA AG training programme:
VARTA AG invests in the skilled workers of tomorrow.
