As the global market leader for hearing aid batteries, VARTA AG's research and development department works every day to make battery solutions for hearing aids more convenient, more sustainable and more powerful. The aim is always to develop smaller, lighter and high-performance products that can be easily integrated into everyday life and offer wearers maximum freedom. In this way, VARTA AG also supports hearing aid manufacturers.
Innovative battery technology: power one EVOLUTION expands the broad portfolio
One example of VARTA AG's innovative strength is the power one EVOLUTION. This pioneering innovation is based on "Thin Foil Technology" (TFT) and is characterised by a particularly high energy density. It offers a larger capacity and therefore significantly longer runtimes, giving hearing aid users an even more comfortable and carefree everyday hearing experience.
As a full-line supplier, VARTA AG is not only known for primary hearing aid batteries, but also for rechargeable energy solutions. In addition to a comprehensive zinc-air range, VARTA AG also offers a wide range of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries – VARTA CoinPower Hearing. The company supports the development of new, innovative and customised hearing aids with custom-fit assembly.
"VARTA AG's brand promise is to make a decisive contribution to a more independent life. This is also our goal with the healthcare products from power one," says Torsten Schmerer, General Manager Micro Batteries at VARTA AG. "In an ageing society, hearing problems are becoming increasingly common. But thanks to modern technologies, this situation can be significantly improved. Our energy solutions help to overcome the stigma surrounding hearing aids and enable people to experience the world in its full diversity of sound again. At the same time, our battery cells, which are sustainably produced in Germany, strengthen the quality promise that hearing care professionals make to their customers."
Sustainability: market trend towards rechargeable batteries
The market is increasingly developing in the direction of rechargeable hearing aid batteries. This trend opens up new opportunities to offer customers sustainable and high-performance products. This is where research and development at VARTA AG comes in to develop the best solutions for the future.
As a leading technology group and provider of innovative quality products, the company takes its responsibility towards people and the environment seriously. With its clear commitment to Germany as a production location and its plants in Ellwangen, Dischingen and Nördlingen, VARTA AG as a whole focuses on environmentally friendly and resource-saving production that also fulfils the highest standards of quality and product safety.
