Ellwangen, 17 February 2025 – Rolf Glessing becomes the new CFO of VARTA AG. He will take over the department upon his appointment to the Executive Board on 1 March 2025, succeeding Marc Hundsdorf. The latter is leaving the company on 28 February 2025 at his own request and by mutual agreement.
Rolf Glessing has many years of management experience in the financial sector and in transformation processes. Previous positions held by the business graduate, auditor and tax consultant include the Merckle Group, GAGFAH S.A., the Buderus Giesserei Group and, most recently, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG. In addition to the realignment of the finance division, he will also focus on the further development of processes and structures in the context of the delisting and the implementation of the restructuring concept.
DDr. Tojner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VARTA AG: “In Rolf Glessing, we have found a high-profile CFO who has exactly the right expertise to lead VARTA AG back into calmer waters and back onto the path to success in view of the recent entrepreneurial challenges. On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Marc Hundsdorf for his great commitment to VARTA AG. In particular, he was instrumental in driving forward the balance sheet restructuring and realignment of the Group. We wish him every success and all the best, both professionally and personally.”
Rolf Glessing adds: “I am very much looking forward to the transformational task at VARTA AG - such a traditional and innovative European technology leader. The implementation of the restructuring concept and the delisting also means a further development of the finance department with the aim of ensuring the best possible implementation of the planned measures. I believe that I can make an effective contribution here based on my previous experience.”
