Pocket-sized safety: the new Safety Light from VARTA

[Translate to English:]

High visibility is particularly important at dusk or at night. Reflectors only provide improved visibility in direct light. An active light source, on the other hand, helps to ensure that people, animals or objects can be seen much earlier and better. With the new Safety Light from VARTA, the long-established company is introducing a compact light for the whole family that can be used flexibly, ensures active safety and fits in any pocket.

Wearing dark clothing as a pedestrian in traffic can have devastating consequences, especially in poor visibility conditions. Measures such as an active light source, reflective elements or high-contrast clothing, on the other hand, can increase visibility fivefold. This significantly reduces the risk of being seen too late by drivers.

Small light, big safety

With the new Safety Light, VARTA Consumer Batteries presents a practical everyday companion that is in the spotlight, especially in poor visibility conditions. Thanks to its dimensions of 4.5 cm in height, 4.9 cm in width and 2.1 cm in depth, the Safety Light has a practical pocket size and, at just 31 g, is easy to carry.

The triangular housing of the light contains six LEDs that enable both white and red light modes. The white light can be controlled in a total of three levels. In addition to high and low, there is also a mode that emits a flashing light signal. In addition to a mode for continuous light, the latter can also be activated for the red light signal.

At the highest light intensity, which is activated in high or flashing mode with white light, the Safety Light emits a light intensity of 25 lumens. The light maintains this for up to 2.5 hours in continuous operation and up to 45 hours when flashing. With red light, 4 lumens are emitted for up to 45 and 3 hours respectively, both flashing and continuously lit. The Safety Light is powered by two CR 2032 button cells, which emphasise the handy form factor of the light and can be replaced quickly.

Apart from the triangular shape, VARTA has kept the design simple and discreet, using a white, translucent lens for a wide beam effect and a grey housing with additional reflective elements on the sides.

There are two practical options for attaching the Safety Light: Either with a double carabiner included in the scope of delivery, which makes it easy and flexible to attach the Safety Light to school satchels, hiking rucksacks, dog collars, handbags or key rings. Or with the magnetic fastener on the back of the housing, which allows the light to be attached almost invisibly to thin fabrics such as those used for running jackets or sports shirts. Without the fastener, the light can also be attached to the bonnet or tailgate of the car and to the frame of pushchairs if necessary. Thanks to the well thought-out mounting options, the Safety Light can be used in a variety of everyday situations as well as during sporting activities. Thanks to IP54 certification and a drop resistance of up to two metres, it can also withstand the weather and minor accidents.

The new Safety Light from VARTA is a practical safety gadget and ensures increased safety through visibility in any situation. The versatile and handy light is now available in stores for €9.99 RRP.
