For the next generation of lithium-ion batteries, the focus is on research into solid electrolytes and the lithium metal anode, among other things. Specifically, the focus is on solid batteries with cylindrical cell formats.

Research projects

SolidS
The project, which is supported by the German government, focuses on the development of a new type of cathode for lithium-sulphur batteries with increased safety, energy density, efficiency and cycle stability.
ELIC
The project deals with the development of lithium solid-state coin cells with high energy and durability.
ALANO
A team from research and industry is working on the development of solid-state batteries. The focus is on lithium metal as anode material.
